What is a Domain?
A domain is the address used to access a website (ie. www.yourdomain.com).
What is Hosting?
Hosting refers to the space on a server where your website is stored online.
How much storage space and bandwidth do we get if I use your hosting?
The storage space and bandwidth can vary depending on the size of your site or blog. Basic hosting gets you 1GB of disc space, 250MB per email box and a bandwidth limit of 10GB a month. All these can be increased for an additional cost.
What is a blog?
A blog is a kind of online journal where a an administrator can post information, opinions, articles, etc., on a regular basis. Each post can be categorized and tagged so that users can sort them out by category or keywords within the text.
What is a “Coming Soon” page?
A single page that can be displayed while your website is being built. It usually has minimal content, like your logo, business description and contact information.
Can I update my own website?
BlackStone Studio can setup an easy to use custom CMS (content management system) for your website. Website maintenance packages are also available.
Do you offer e-commerce?
BlackStone Studio can install an online store on your website that you can setup, manage and update yourself. The online store works only with PayPal "Website Payments Standard". PayPal processes all transactions.
Do you create all flash websites?
No, BlackStone Studio no longer provides flash animations as websites or as part of websites.
Do you offer SEO (Search Engine Optimization)?
BlackStone Studio does not provide SEO (Search Engine Optimization) or SEM (Search Engine Marketing) services. We make an effort to make your website, blog or online store search engine friendly but we make no guarantees that your website, blog or online store will be ranked organically on search engines.
Do you create responsive websites or tablet/mobile versions of a website?
Your website will be designed primarily for desktop browsers, and while it may perform properly on some mobile devices and tablets, we cannot guarantee that it will look or work the same on all.

Do you use link backs and credits on my website?
All BlackStone Studio websites will have a link back to BlackStone Studio and the proper accreditation to the work.
In some cases, your website may contain open source, general public license, freeware scripts, codes or files that may require attribution in the source code.
Is website maintenance included in the initial cost?
Once the site is completed, any additional changes or maintenance will have added cost. Website maintenance packages are available.
How long does it take to complete a website?
A project’s turnaround time depends on the project. BlackStone Studio will help you determine a reasonable timeline and schedule before the projects is started, however it can be affected by how quickly you send feedback and content.
Will my website be compatible with all browsers?
We test our work in current versions of major desktop browsers, but we cannot guarantee that the website will work and look exactly the same in each. We will not test in other older browsers unless you specify otherwise.
Printing Questions
What kind of printing do you do?
BlackStone Studio offers digital color printing and does not guarantee a perfect color match to specific colors.
What is your turnaround time on printed material?
Turnaround time is 2 weeks after artwork is approved.
Will the color of my printed material vary on each print run?
Due to the digital printing process, BlackStone Studio cannot guarantee a perfect color match, even if it is a reprint of the same project.
Copyrights and Use of Products Questions
Do you release the website and source files for my project?

Can I copyright my website or blog?
You own all elements of text, images and data you provided. The website design is licensed to you and the blog software is under a GPL license. To learn more about copyright, ownership and use, click here read BlackStone Studio's terms.
Do you create the content for my website or printed material?
We are not responsible for writing any text copy for your project.
Do you offer stock photography?
BlackStone Studio encourages you to purchase directly from www.istockphoto.com or other stock websites. Click here and start browsing at www.istockphoto.com and don't forget to check their license agreements.
Photography Questions
Do you have a photo studio?
No, pictures are taken on location, preferably in natural light.
Where do you take the pictures?
BlackStone Studio can suggest different locations depending on the type of photo session. You can also request a location or place of your choice.
How do I get my pictures?
You will receive a selected number of photographs from your session in a high res JPG format file. Prints are also available.
Do you touch up the pictures?
Yes, all photographs you receive have some basic editing, but any further retouching that is requested may have an additional fee based upon the level of work.
Pricing and Billing Questions
Where can I look at pricing?
You can find some pricing packages that are available on our services and printing pages. Pricing may vary from project to project. Contact me at bholland@blackstonestudio.com for a proposal.
What are the payment options?
You will pay 50% deposit before any work is started. Then, you will pay the balance due, plus any added services along the way that you may have requested, at the completion of the project. To learn more about payment policies, click here read BlackStone Studio's terms.
Do you give out refunds?
Deposits are non-refundable. If you decided to pay in full and the project needs to be terminated before it is completed, BlackStone Studio will provide a partial refund based on the amount of work that was done.
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes, but only through PayPal. Using this payment option may have an added processing fee. I also accept online bank payments through the Inuit Payment Network.
File Transfer Questions
How do I send you large files?
You can email me files up to 10 MB, or you can email me for access to BlackStone Studio's online file manager where you can just drag and drop files up to 100 MB in size.
How do I send the text content that will be used in my project?
The accepted file formats are: Word Document or Notepad files. If you only have scanned material, there will be an additional fee for retyping the information.
How do I send the images that will be used for my project?
All images that will be used for printing purposes should be at least 300 dpi and the exact size that they will be printed at or larger.
All images that will be used for web purposes should be at least 72 dpi and the exact size that they will be used at or larger.
How do I send you my logo?
Your logo should be preferably be in vector format.
Accepted file formats: . eps and .ai.
