There are three basic things you need to have a website:
Domain Name
A domain is the name address of a website (ie. www.yourdomain.com) and it can be purchased on your own or through BlackStone Studio. I can transfer your domain back to you at any time, but if there are any fees related to the transfer, you are responsible to pay those fees.
Hosting Provider
Hosting refers to where your website is stored online. Due to security and technical reasons, as of April 2010, BlackStone Studio will require clients to use BlackStone Studio's hosting when hiring me to design your website or blog. I no longer accept clients that want to use their own hosting provider.
Website Files
The website files* are all the graphic elements, programming, scripts and in some cases animations that make up your site and make it look and work the way it does.
*All files created by BlackStone Studio are property of BlackStone Studio or have been licensed to BlackStone Studio by a third party, so this requires me not to release any website, development or source files. Read our Terms.
And that's it!
When these three elements interact together they create a website. The "website files" are stored on the "hosting" space and they can be viewed as a website when the online user types in the "domain name" in the browser's address bar.
