My hubs and I had big plans to have many beach days with Nacho and Happi this year. After our dear Cinko, who loved the beach, crossed over the rainbow bridge, we promised to bring our other two pups to the ocean more often. But as life does, it got busy, and we only managed to squeeze in one trip. Of course, the weather had other plans for us. We were met with very high tide, no dry sand, cloudy skies, and two dogs that seemed relieved when we decided to cut our trip short.
Still, for the time we were there, Happi (true to her name) found her happy place—perched like royalty on her little Paw Patrol chair, surveying the shoreline and passersby. Nacho, our water-wary Doberman, handled the ocean better than last year but spent most of the time on guard, keeping a watchful eye on the seagulls—the squirrels of the sea.
Even though this trip didn’t go quite as planned, it was still great—because no matter how the day goes, spending time with our dogs makes us the happiest.
