I’ll start by saying I’m not an illustrator by trade. Most of my work involves clean, crisp vector graphics created on my computer—not paper or canvas. But this? This little bunny was hand-drawn on my iPad using brushes that mimic watercolor, pencil, and ink—more freeform, imperfect, and expressive.
The inspiration came from a recent tutorial by Andrea Nelson, one of my favorite watercolor artists on Instagram. She has this kind, encouraging way of making you feel like whatever you create is exactly what it should be. She once said something that really stuck with me: Talent is just an interest that you’ve practiced. I remind myself of that often, especially when I’m trying to build new skills. Is my drawing great? Not at all. But I had fun. I practiced. And I can definitely see myself exploring more of this illustration style in the future.
Also… with Easter weekend coming up, it just felt like the right time for a bunny.
