Finding clients who are a “good fit” can be challenging. Over the years, I’ve learned of two ways that work wonders in finding people you’ll most likely enjoy working with. While some businesses like to keep their online presence somewhat ambiguous, I provide as much information about myself as possible on my website. I include both my abilities and limitations. I am also one of the few local designers who list prices on their site. For me, identifying myself and my services clearly online has become an incredible time-saver in finding people who are a good fit for my business. The second way has been through existing clients. Referrals from individuals I already enjoy working with usually lead to more awesome business relationships! Such is the case with Life Safety Associates, a company in California that found me through one of my long-time clients. And speaking of identifying yourself clearly, I recently designed these Operator ID cards for their Powered Industrial Truck Training certifications. Life Safety is always a pleasure to work with, and I am looking forward to a few more projects we have lined up for this year! What practices have you found helpful in your business to help you connect with clients that are right for you?
