Inspired by some talented artists on Instagram, I’ve started experimenting with watercolors! It all began a few months ago when I watched a tutorial from Andrea Nelson on dog portraits. I was captivated by her fun personality and her easy-to-follow tutorials. Then, during watercolor month, I discovered Lacey Walker, who is equally awesome and teaches you so much about the basics and materials. Needless to say, I was hooked on the idea of trying to watercolor for myself. For the past two weeks, I’ve been playing with exercises from both artists, as well as freestyling my own art. I’m not great at it. In fact, I’m not even good at it! But as Andrea says, “It’s going to be fine!” I’m not looking to become an artist. It’s just a relaxing and enjoyable activity for me—it’s just for fun! I’m grateful for these two ladies sharing their talent, passion, and joy! Did you get into watercolors last month too?
