Who else gets so “in the zone” that sometimes while working, you look up to realize you haven’t gotten up from your desk in hours? Because honestly, that happens to me a lot when I’m working on a project that I’m really into. Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to design this very unique brochure for Weston Dean Custom Homes. I really enjoyed working on this project as I was given fantastic content for it and a lot of creative freedom—but it was a big undertaking, and sometimes I would get tunnel vision. Whenever work gets a little intense, I remind myself to stop and reassess if I need to pause for the day or take a quick break. As a self-proclaimed workaholic, that can be difficult for me. But a little detachment always pays off because I am always more creative and productive when I keep a reasonable pace. How about you, friend? Do you struggle to take a break when you enjoy your work?
