I’m not a Halloween person. I don’t do scary. In fact, I can’t wait for tomorrow to get here so I can start setting up for Christmas! But, in the spirit of the day, I’ve been playing around with AI—specifically Adobe Firefly. The advice for AI is always the same: be super specific and highly descriptive for the best results. Ironically, I got great results when I kept the prompt simple: Friendly, Happy, Goofy Halloween Pumpkin. Maybe it was a fluke, but I love this silly snaggletooth pumpkin! When it popped up on my screen, I swear I had the same goofy grin it did (mine, with a few more teeth). I added a few Photoshop touches, but Firefly did all the work.
That said, I’m still cautious when it comes to using AI-generated images in my work—specifically for things like flyers, ads, or anything I release to a client for commercial use. I’m okay using AI for mockups, which are just for proofing, or for minor things like extending or improving client or stock photos. But fully AI-generated images, like this pumpkin, still make me hesitant. What are your thoughts?
