Did you know that only 9% of adults keep their resolutions year-round? It’s quite a challenging feat. Personally, I’ve shifted away from traditional New Year’s resolutions as well. Instead, I focus on setting meaningful goals—something to work towards throughout the year, concentrating on progress and improvement instead of absolute completion.
I rarely share my goals publicly. Forget accountability—I find being low-key about my plans more motivating. It is more rewarding for me to have others notice my progress as it occurs than to announce it before it even happens.
But today, I will make an exception and share one personal goal: more beach trips! Last year, I was reminded how a simple weekend away to the beach can be so healing, bringing balance to the hustle and bustle of daily life.
How good are you at sticking to New Year’s resolutions?
