The backyard has been bustling lately. The cardinals, who had taken an unexpected vacation, are back and mingling with the usual titmice, wrens, phoebes, and the ever-present doves. I’m not a fan of the doves—they’re messy and loud. Unfortunately, they’re the only birds I can stare at closely without them giving a single feathered care. The hummingbirds have been showing up in droves, and I’m here for it. They apparently love the rain and are getting bolder around us gawking humans. They’re definitely my favorites—well, after the cardinals… and the blue jays. Okay, I have a lot of favorites.
What does this have to do with graphic design? Nothing at all—it’s just me adding to the fact that birdwatching is all the rage now for some of us born in the late 1900s.
