I’m going to age myself right now, but I use to love making mixtapes as a teenager. It was fun to curate a list of favorite songs and create the perfect musical compilations for whatever mood I was in. When CDs started getting popular, I became very selective with my song choices because compact discs were expensive back then! Today, I still create custom playlists on my phone all the time. While I’m grateful for how easy it now is to build my music collection, I sometimes miss the old process. It was a sort of art form to press the Record and Play buttons together at just the right time. Did you make mixtapes?
