Officially a U.S. Citizen!

Naturalization Ceremony

When I enrolled in school in San Antonio back in 2005, I had no idea that I would eventually make it my home. It was never my goal to stay here permanently, but something happened along the way… life. It was in this beautiful city that I found a deeper passion for my work in design, and where I met and fell in love with my amazing husband, Justin.

On April 12, I joined a few hundred other people from all parts of the world at the Institute of Texan Cultures as we took part in the Oath Ceremony where we finally became U.S. citizens. As our family and loved ones stood around us watching, we raised our right hand and replied “I do” after the judge administered the Oath. I am still very proud to be Mexican and will always love my country, but I am now also extremely happy to be a citizen of the United States. For all those family and friends who have followed my journey and supported me along the way, thank you!!!
